The box is amazing and truly an item of beauty but why are the Bootleg Series not included as well as Biograph ? The first one Vols 1-3 are arguably the best album that Dylan has released while Biograph changed the way box sets were marketed . If nothing else , it would be nice if the purchaser would be notified of the updated pages. Just my two cents worth.

The Bob Dylan Archive has just arrived. I was delighted to see it was very well packed. I have to say it weighs a ton, even without CDs. It looks a very high quality product. Just one question when is the Bootleg Series Archive being released?

really was worth the wait! I was here showing a friend the posts about the delay above, the library buzzer went and she said "Wouldn't it be funny if that was UPS?" AND IT WAS!! I offered the courier champagne!!! I can't wait to get it home. We took the Dylan CDs we have in the library and tried it out. It's gorgeous. The CDs slip in to half pockets and the liner notes or digipacks slide in above them, there are velcro tags and CD coasters to secure and prevent scuffing, when you first open the side ofthe huge and heavy cloth box, you see a set of LP spines, that cunningly become the CD storage, the hardback bok and the catalography. And man, that hardback book is worth the price alone: all the album sleeves, front back and inserts, full size, beautifully printed, even all the Biograph notes &c. The catalography reprints posters, adverts flyers and contemporaneous reviews, God knows where I'm going to put it, the box itself is soft tweedy cloth, the Fender picture.. oh wow.. oh wow... I love it!

...is enjoy the quality and weight of this product. The design is great, and the book of cover art is lovely; the only gap is some extra pages for additional discs...

Now I have something worthy of holding my Dylan collection. If you love Dylan and his body of work than this is a must have. There is nothing that comes close to this archive. Everything is top-notch....I couldn't be happier. My friends who also love Dylan are green with envy.

Others will note the incredible attention to details throughout this wonderful product, but I was struck by the consistency shown in the very nicely helpful "product discussion" pages availble through the "To read more about the BOB Dylan Archive" link at the right hand top of this page. For folks "Bobsessive" it doesn't get any better than this!

The Dylan BoV is everything that I expected based on the Beatles and the Lennon BoV's. Jon, You and your team have done it again. Thanks for another great BoV!

I got an e-mail telling me about the Box of Vision for Bob Dylan. Being a HUGE Dylan fan I went to the website & looked at it. I thought Wow that's kind of expensive but I went & treated myself. It arrived & when I opened it I saw it is worth every penny. It is a beautiful package loaded with great pictures, reviws, articles etc. What a great way to store all the CD's in one place. Every Dylan fan should get one & display it for everyone to see. Great job

I had no prior exposure to Box of Vision, but was fortunate enough to win this box in an online quiz, and just wanted to share my thoughts. All over the Internet, I see people talking about this box. "Dylan is a sell out." "That package looks really great!" "That's too much money for a CD album." "I can't wait to get a copy of it!" etc etc etc. Okay, people don't need BMWs. It's true. A Geo Metro will also get you from Point A to Point B (usually). But if you appreciate Bob Dylan, and you enjoy a truly quality product, well, this is your BMW. You'll pay for it, but you'll appreciate it and enjoy it. The book of LP art is sufficient justification for all the rest. It's gorgeous, fascinating, and humbling, if you feel the way about Bob Dylan that I do. I really believe that if Martians stumble upon a broken down earth in 5,000 years and they find the LP art book, they'll probably give earth more credit than it deserves, on the whole. The photography, the liner notes, the memories, the art, it's just glorious. The catalography collects an interesting group of reviews, advertisements, etc. It can be thought of as a critical companion to the album art book, or maybe as a second part to it. And yes, then there is the binder. It's very well constructed and has space for all of the regular release Dylan albums. The hard to find Dylan CD is in, as are Greatest Hits 1-3, and all the contemporaneous live releases. Not included are Biograph (although it's in the album art book, with liner notes) and the Bootleg Series releases. It's well designed, has room for all the discs, and for either the flat boxes, or the cover/sleeve notes, if your CDs are a few years old, like mine. Put together, this would be the most awesome coffee table collection ever. Except that it's too nice for my coffee table. The day it came in the mail, I felt like Ralph Parker Sr. from "A Christmas Story". I wanted to put it in the front window and show it off to all the neighbors. If you get one, I bet you'll feel like that too.

Don't think twice, it's MORE than "all right" - it's all GREAT Reviewed by Peter J. R. on 03/31/2011

First off, it's really difficult for words to describe how incredibly beautiful & well thought out the Dylan Archive is. It really is one of those things you need to see to appreciate how really wonderful it is. It's not just a binder and a couple of books in a case. This is a centrepiece. It's a conversation starter. It really is an "oeuvre" in and of itself. The information in the catalography alone makes this set worth having. It will prove insightful and informative to even the most knowledgeable of Bob Dylan fans. Then, there's the 220-page book of album art. Makes you nostalgic for when album covers were 12 X 12. Seeing all those covers all together in one place, turning the pages and experiencing his changes make for an interesting ride. And this is to say nothing of the alternates/variants of cover art that are included as well. It really gives you everything. This really and truly makes for a great gift to Dylan fans. When it arrives in the mail, I defy you not to feel like a kid on Christmas Day. I really cannot say enough about this. If you have any hesitations, rest assured, you will be very pleased. As far as the price goes: I promise you, when you have this in your hand, you'll feel you did not pay enough for it!

Really, words really don't do it justice to how great of a product this is. Reading all of the reviews was a real trip ("Like a Rolling Stone" the six most boring minutes in rock? Really), the LP art book made me look at all of his albums in a new light, and having all the spines look like old LPs was a nice touch. This is the perfect gift for any (and every) Dylan fan!
